Fulfillment Rolling Out + Exciting News from Canada 🍁
11 days ago – Fri, Mar 20, 2026 at 08:59:21 AM

Hello, Excalibur backers!

The quest is nearly complete! Australia/NZ? Done. Canada? Nearly there. Everyone else? Your games are in motion and closing in fast. Let's break it down by region.

Regional Fulfillment Updates

Australia/NZ: COMPLETE! 🎉

Canada: 90% of packages have been dispatched. We're in the final stretch!

USA & Mexico: Freight is being delivered to CABVI today, March 20th. Fulfillment should begin in late March and has been estimated to take 3 weeks. Backers in Mexico should expect an email over within the next week requesting your RFC. Please check your inbox and reply as soon as possible so we can keep your shipment moving.

EU: Freight was delayed and is now scheduled to reach port on March 22nd and will be delivered to GamesQuest's German hub in the first week of April. Fulfillment should begin in mid-April and should also take 3 weeks to complete.

UK (& other European countries): The shipment should reach the UK port on March 28th and be delivered to GamesQuest around April 11th. We have been told that 3 weeks is a safe estimate for the UK as well, so fulfillment should wrap up by the end of April, possibly early May.

Asia (& "rest of world"): All direct shipments are complete (for example, to China or Macao). Most other countries are fulfilled by a hub partner within that country. Each backer's order is fully packed and boxed by VFI, then when the hub shipment arrives, they are sent out very quickly. See the VFI hub page for details about individual countries (scroll down to Excalibur).

Celebrating Canadian Game Design 🇨🇦

We've got exciting news to share with our Canadian backers and anyone who loves Canadian game design!

Canadian publishers are joining forces to celebrate the imagination and creativity in board games from our true northern home. Play The North is a multi-day gaming event spread throughout the year and throughout the country. The intention is to encourage play and to highlight some of the incredibly talented designers, artists, and publishers that Canada has to offer.

Play The North will connect Canadian board game retailers and players with Canadian publishers through curated events, demos, and other programming.

This is a joint initiative founded by KTBG, Burnt Island Games, Roxley Games, Steeped Games, Inside Up Games, Off The Page Games, and Pe Metawe Games. We're looking to grow, adding new partners and collaborators over time.

The first event will be at Pe Metawe in Edmonton, Alberta, on September 25-27. Stay tuned for more announcements of upcoming events.

🚢 Freight & Fulfillment Update: Excalibur is Moving!
25 days ago – Fri, Mar 06, 2026 at 03:12:43 PM

Greetings, noble backers and patient conspirators!

Excalibur is on the move around the world! Here's where things stand for each region:

Regional Fulfillment Updates

🇦🇺 Australia/NZ: COMPLETE!

Fulfillment has started and finished since the last update! The Armarlo team worked hard to get Excalibur shipped quickly.

To answer the question you've probably already started typing: this doesn't mean everyone in Australia/NZ will have their orders yet, just that they're all out the door from the fulfillment center.

🇺🇸 USA & Mexico

Freight arrived at port on March 3rd and will be delivered to CABVI on approximately March 17th. Fulfillment should begin in late March and has been estimated to take 3 weeks.

🇨🇦 Canada

The shipment was delivered to Ziing on March 5th. Fulfillment has begun already and should take 3 weeks or less to complete.

🇪🇺 European Union

Freight is scheduled to reach port on March 9th and will be delivered to GamesQuest's German hub by about March 23rd. Fulfillment should start at the beginning of April and should take 3 weeks to complete.

🇬🇧 UK & Other European Countries

The shipment should reach port in the UK on March 28th and should be delivered to GamesQuest about April 11th. We've been told that 3 weeks is a safe estimate for the UK as well, so fulfillment should wrap up by the end of April, possibly early May.

🌏 Asia & Rest of World

Asia still has the most complicated timeline! The stock has already arrived at VFI and all shipments have been packed.

Direct shipments (for example, to China or Macao) have started shipping.

Hub countries: Each backer's order is fully packed and boxed by VFI, then when the hub shipment arrives, they are sent out very quickly. It's possible some orders get aboard the monthly March hub shipments, but most will likely go out with the April hub shipments. This means hub country backers will have a best-case late April, worst-case late May delivery. Click here to check hub statuses on VFI's website

What This Means

Excalibur is arriving! Some of you will have it in hand within days or weeks, while others will need to wait a bit longer, depending on your region. We appreciate your patience as fulfillment centers work through their queues.

As always, if you have specific questions about your order, reach out to us at [email protected], and we'll help you track things down.

Please post your photos, videos, questions, and first impressions over on BoardGameGeek! Make all the peasants jealous.

🚢 Nearly All Freight Departed + Regional Delivery Timelines
about 1 month ago – Fri, Feb 20, 2026 at 09:06:14 AM

Alright, this is the big one! Our quest for the Holy Grail of game fulfillment continues...

Nearly all freight has departed and is well on its way. Production is done, the games are packed, and like Arthur's knights setting sail for adventure, they're crossing oceans as we speak.

Every region has slightly different arrival dates depending on port schedules, fulfillment center locations, and (in the UK's case) a bit of ship-rolling around Chinese New Year that would make even the Knights Who Say Ni lose their patience. But the important thing is: everything is moving, the swallows are carrying the coconuts, and we're in the final stretch!

Regional Shipment & Fulfillment Timelines

USA & Mexico: Freight should reach port on March 3rd and be delivered to CABVI on approximately March 17th. Fulfillment should begin in late March and has been estimated to take 3 weeks.

EU: Freight is scheduled to reach port on March 6th and will be delivered to GamesQuest's German hub by about March 20th. Fulfillment should begin at the start of April and should also take 3 weeks to complete.

UK: Freight is lagging behind all the other shipments by about 3 weeks. This shipment was one of many that got "rolled" (twice now!); moved to the next ship after the initially-booked one got filled up. This is common around Chinese New Year, but its ship is now set to depart Feb 23rd. It should reach port in the UK March 28th and should get delivered to GamesQuest about April 11th. We have been told that 3 weeks is a safe estimate for the UK as well, so fulfillment should wrap up by approximately mid-May.

Canada: Freight has nearly arrived, with a port date of Feb 19th, and we expect an arrival at Ziing on about Feb 27th. Fulfillment will begin in early March, and we have confirmed that a 3-week fulfillment time is also doable for Canada.

Australia & NZ: Similar to Canada, we have a Feb 19th port date in Australia, and it should be delivered to Armarlo by about Feb 27th. Fulfillment will begin in early March and should take about 2 weeks to complete.

Asia (& "rest of world"): Asia has the most complicated timeline! The stock has already arrived at VFI, but the staff is currently enjoying the CNY break. It will be about 14 days for the project to reach the front of the queue once the staff returns from break, and only 1 or 2 days to pack all shipments once it's on the line. This means that all direct shipments will go out in mid-March (for example, to China or Macao). A hub partner within that country fulfils most other countries. Each backer's order is fully packed and boxed by VFI, then when the hub shipment arrives, they are sent out very quickly. It's possible that some orders will be included in the monthly March hub shipments, but most will likely be sent out with the April hub shipments. This means that hub country backers will have a best-case late April, worst-case late May delivery.

Manny's New Campaign: Jump Masters!

Speaking of exciting news! Manny Trembley, the incredible designer and illustrator behind Excalibur, has a new project launching with Chip Theory Games called Jump Masters! If you loved Manny's work on Excalibur, you'll definitely want to check this one out.

ICYMI: Brass Pittsburgh Launch Moved to March 24th 🏭

In case you missed it, we recently announced that Brass: Pittsburgh is now launching on March 24th, 2026 (pushed back from the original February date).

Why the delay? We're doing something we've never done before: launching with localized campaign pages in seven languages from day one: English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Simplified Chinese, and Polish. Both the campaign page and the game itself will be translated, so you can back the game in your preferred language right from the start.

The campaign will run for 21 days on Gamefound, closing on April 13th at 5 pm ET.

Production Nearly Done + Charging for Shipping, Taxes, Add-ons & US Tariffs
3 months ago – Fri, Jan 09, 2026 at 10:44:04 AM

Happy New Year!!

Production will be complete by the end of this month! We're in the home stretch now, and it's time to finalize shipping charges and lock in orders in BackerKit.

Timeline Update

United States Shipping (US Backers Only)

As many of you are aware, the United States has set tariffs on imports from a number of different countries over the past year. When we launched Excalibur on Kickstarter, we classified the US into its own shipping zone, knowing that we'd need to determine the final shipping cost once freight was ready to depart, based on whatever the tariff rate on China would be at that time.

As you can see from the shipping graphic we shared during the campaign (included below), we estimated this would result in a shipping cost to the US between $9-21 for 1 game, and between $11-35 for a 2-game bundle.

Now that freight is ready to go later this month, we're finally able to lock in the shipping cost and charge everyone in BackerKit for shipping and add-ons.

The final shipping rate for US backers will be:

  • $12 for 1 copy of Excalibur
  • $17 for 2 copies of Excalibur
  • Note that additional add-ons incur add-on shipping.

We understand it may have been inconvenient for some backers not to have been charged shipping until now, but we had to ensure that we accurately collected the proper amount for tariffs. With the volatility around tariff rates, this couldn't be done until freight was ready to depart.

One piece of good news: the tariffs only affect copies of Excalibur and not other add-ons added in the pledge manager, as those were imported before tariffs were implemented.

Timeline Refresher (All Backers)

Here's a quick recap of how the payment process has worked:

  • When the Kickstarter project funded: Your credit card was charged for the cost of the Excalibur games you backed (excluding shipping, VAT, and applicable taxes).
  • When we launched the BackerKit pledge manager (a couple of months later): Backers filled out their shipping addresses and were able to add on more copies of Excalibur and other Roxley games. Credit cards were not charged for shipping, taxes, or add-ons at that time.
  • Now that freight is ready to depart: We can finally lock in US shipping costs and charge all backers’ cards in BackerKit for add-ons, shipping, VAT, and applicable taxes.

ALERT: We Will Lock Orders on Thursday, January 15th

  • We will lock orders and charge for add-ons, shipping VAT, and applicable taxes in BackerKit on Thursday, January 15th, 2026.
  • Address changes must be submitted by Thursday, February 5, 2026.

Thank you for your patience as we navigated the tariff situation and worked to get Excalibur to you as affordably as possible. We're so close to getting these games in your hands!
